Mortgage Calculator
Your monthly mortgage payment, and what the loan costs in total, after the down payment.
Monthly payment
How it works
Loan = home price − down payment Payment = Loan × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1) where r = annual rate ÷ 1200 and n = term in months
Worked example: a ₹50,00,000 home with a ₹10,00,000 down payment leaves a ₹40,00,000 loan. At 9% for 20 years the monthly payment is ₹35,989, the total interest is ₹46,37,369 and the total cost including the down payment is ₹96,37,369.
Frequently asked questions
What is a down payment?
It is the part of the home price you pay up front. The rest is borrowed, and only the borrowed part attracts interest.
Does a bigger down payment help?
Yes, in two ways: the loan is smaller, so the monthly payment falls, and the total interest falls too.
Are taxes, insurance and fees included?
No. This covers the loan payment only. Taxes, insurance, registration and other charges are extra.
Is this a loan offer?
No. It is an estimate from the standard loan formula, not an offer from a lender.
